Help your ancestors attain salvation by helping injured cows during Pitru Paksha

Pitru Paksha Donation

Pitru Paksha Donation

Pitru Paksha is a sacred period in the Hindu calendar dedicated to honoring our ancestors. It is believed that during these 15 days, the souls of our forefathers come down to bless their families, and rituals like Shradh and offerings are made for their peace and salvation. While we often perform these rituals through food and prayers, there is another powerful way to offer blessings to our ancestorsтАФby helping those in need, especially injured cows.

Cows hold a special place in Hindu culture. They are seen as holy animals, and by helping cows, we can earn immense spiritual merit. During Pitru Paksha, this act of kindness carries even greater significance. By caring for injured or abandoned cows, you are not only performing a good deed but also helping your ancestors attain peace and salvation.

1. Why is Pitru Paksha So Important?

Pitru Paksha is a time to express gratitude to our ancestors for everything they have done for us. According to Hindu beliefs, when we perform Shradh during these days, we ensure that the souls of our departed loved ones find peace. It is believed that helping others, especially animals like cows, multiplies the blessings and helps our ancestors in their spiritual journey.

During this time, many people donate food, clothes, and money to those in need. However, donations made to help injured cows, often overlooked, hold a special spiritual value. Cows are deeply respected in Hinduism, and taking care of them is seen as one of the highest forms of service.

Honor your ancestors’ souls and liberate them by performing Gau Seva on Pitru Paksha

    Gau Seva on Pitru Paksha

Pitru Paksha is a special time in India when people remember and honor their ancestors by offering food to Gaumata. This 15-day period is very important in our traditions. This year, you can support Krishna Dham Gaushala to feed countless injured cows during this sacred time.

    1. Pitru Paksha Shradh Significance

It is believed that after passing through 8.4 million life forms, a human attains human birth. A child is born into a family, but it is through the act of performing Shradh rituals during Pitru Paksha that he truly fulfills the role of a son. Offering Shradh with complete devotion during Pitru Paksha brings peace to the souls of ancestors, freeing the family from the effects of Pitra Dosh. It is also believed that during these 16 days, the ancestors return to earth, and their wishes are fulfilled when cow dung cakes are burned during the Shradh rituals, performed on the anniversary of their passing.

Pitru Paksha is a sacred 16-day period when we show reverence to our ancestors through rituals like Tarpan or Shradh Puja. The annual Shradh ceremony, known as Varshika Shradh, is performed by the surviving son(s) on the Shradh Tithi (death anniversary). According to the Puranas, performing Varshika Shradh in holy places or ‘Teertha Kshetras’ is considered extremely meritorious. The Puranas also highlight the different types of Shradh and their significance, emphasizing that performing these rituals during Pitru Paksha not only brings peace to departed souls but also paves the way for progress and prosperity for the family.

Pitru Paksha is a sacred time when we remember and honor our ancestors. It is believed that during this period, our ancestors come in the form of cows to accept offerings of food and water. This year, Pitru Paksha will be observed from September 17th to October 2nd, and you can take part in this special occasion by offering respect to your ancestors through acts of kindness.

    2. Benefits of Gau Seva During Pitru Paksha (Shradh)

Cows represent the earth element and feeding them during Pitru Paksha is considered very important. Pitru Paksha, also known as Shradh, is a sacred time for Hindus. It is believed that during this period, the souls of departed ancestors return to earth in the form of Cow. By feeding cows, the families honor their ancestors and receive their blessings. Here are mention some benefits below

    • Peace for AncestorsтАЩ Souls: Offering food and care to cows during Shradh is believed to bring peace to the souls of departed ancestors. It is said that they return to earth in the form of animals, including cows, and blessing their families for their offerings.
    • Removal of Pitra Dosh: Gau Seva during Pitru Paksha can help reduce or remove the effects of Pitra Dosh, a condition believed to cause obstacles in life due to unresolved issues with ancestors.
    • Earning Blessings: Feeding and taking care of cows in pitru paksha is seen as an act of great virtue, bringing blessings to the entire family, and ensuring prosperity, good health, and happiness.
    • Fulfilling Religious Duty: In Hinduism, serving cows is considered a sacred duty, and during Pitru Paksha, this act is even more significant as it symbolizes respect and reverence toward one’s ancestors.
    • Bringing Positive Energy: By caring for cows during Pitru Paksha, one invites positive energy into their home and life. Cows are associated with divine energy and nurturing, and their care is said to uplift the environment.

At Krishna Dham Gaushala, we are committed to feeding injured cows with healthy meals during Pitru Paksha. By serving these gentle animals, you are not only helping them but also paying tribute to your ancestors. Your support can bring hope and happiness to these cows, making this occasion even more meaningful.

This year, Krishna Dham Gaushala in Dehradun is launching a special initiative during Shradh (Pitru Paksha) to support abandoned and injured cows. Your donations will directly help by:

    • Rescuing and treating injured and sick cows.
    • Providing healthy food and clean water to stray cows.
    • Creating safe shelters for abandoned cows.
    • Raising awareness about the humane treatment of animals.

Krishna Dham Gaushala is committed to the care and protection of cows, which hold a special place in our culture and tradition. Located in a calm and serene environment, our gaushala is home to over 500 cows, including those that are sick, hungry, or rescued from butchers. We provide them with healthy food, medical care, and a safe place where they can live with respect. Our mission follows the ancient Indian tradition of Gosamrakshana and Goseva. In Hindu culture, cows represent gentleness, nourishment, and life-giving qualities. Sadly, many of these kind animals face cruelty and neglect.

Our gaushala offers hope to over 500 cows that have been saved from slaughterhouses and abuse. Each cow has its own story of hardship, and we are dedicated to helping them heal and live peacefully.
