Krishna Dham Gaushala is committed to the care and protection of cows, which hold a special place in our culture and tradition. Located in a calm and serene environment, our gaushala is home to over 500 cows, including those that are sick, hungry, or rescued from butchers. We provide them with healthy food, medical care, and a safe place where they can live with respect. Our mission follows the ancient Indian tradition of Gosamrakshana and Goseva. In Hindu culture, cows represent gentleness, nourishment, and life-giving qualities. Sadly, many of these kind animals face cruelty and neglect. Our gaushala offers hope to over 500 cows that have been saved from slaughterhouses and abuse. Each cow has its own story of hardship, and we are dedicated to helping them heal and live peacefully.
What we do ?
At Krishna Dham Gaushala, our mission is to create a safe and caring space for cows, respecting their sacred role in our culture. We focus on rescuing and helping stray, sick, and abandoned cows by giving them shelter, food, and medical attention. Here’s what we do:
- Daily Feeding: We ensure that 500 cows are fed every day, providing them with the nutrition they need to stay healthy and strong.
- Rescue Operations: We actively rescue cows in need, whether they have been abandoned, injured, or are in danger of being slaughtered.
- Medical Care: Our team offers full veterinary care to treat injuries, illnesses, and malnutrition, ensuring the cows receive the best care possible.
Pitru paksha shradh significance
It is believed that after passing through 8.4 million life forms, a human attains human birth. A child is born into a family, but it is through the act of performing Shradh rituals during Pitru Paksha that he truly fulfills the role of a son. Offering Shradh with complete devotion during Pitru Paksha brings peace to the souls of ancestors, freeing the family from the effects of Pitra Dosh. It is also believed that during these 16 days, the ancestors return to earth, and their wishes are fulfilled when cow dung cakes are burned during the Shradh rituals, performed on the anniversary of their passing.
Pitru Paksha is a sacred time when we remember and honor our ancestors. It is believed that during this period, our ancestors come in the form of cows to accept offerings of food and water.
How You Can Help:Donate Now: Your kind contributions can make a big difference. No donation is too small—every bit helps improve the lives of these animals.
Rs. 1,500/- can help build a safe shelter for abandoned cows.
Rs. 5,000/- can cover medical costs for an injured animal.
Rs. 550/- can provide a full day’s worth of food for a stray cow.
Every donation makes a difference. Each meal served to the cows is a blessing earned, a tribute to the souls of your departed loved ones. This Pitru Paksha, let’s ensure no cow in Dehradun goes hungry. You can donate fodder kits and medicine kits to help Krishna Dham Gaushala care for countless cows during this sacred time.
