Support Our Mission to Feed Monkeys

In the holy city of Mathura, monkeys hold a special place in people’s hearts. They are considered sacred and are believed to be messengers of Lord Hanuman. However, with increasing urbanization, their natural food sources have declined, leaving them hungry and vulnerable. To address this issue, Krishna Dham Gaushala, in collaboration with Shri Yashoda Nandan Shiva Trust, has launched the Feeding Street Monkeys Campaign. This noble initiative feeds 10,000 monkeys daily and provides them clean drinking water, ensuring their well-being and survival.

1. The Mission Behind the Campaign

Monkeys have always been a part of Mathura’s spiritual and cultural landscape. Unfortunately, with fewer trees and food sources, they struggle to find sustenance. Krishna Dham Gaushala has taken up the responsibility to provide them with nutritious food and water so they can thrive. The campaign is dedicated to offering daily meals while spreading awareness about the importance of caring for these divine creatures.

By participating in this campaign, we uphold the values of sewa and karuna, which are central to Hindu philosophy. Feeding these monkeys is not just about providing them with food; it is about respecting nature, fulfilling our dharma, and preserving the balance of life.

  1. Daily Feed Monkeys: Nearly 10,000 monkeys are fed every day, ensuring they get proper nourishment.
  2. Water Bowls Initiative: Over 2,000 bowls of fresh water are placed across various locations to keep the monkeys hydrated.
  3. Varied & Nutritious Food: A well-balanced diet is provided to keep the monkeys healthy and strong. The food items include:
    • Chana (Chickpeas) – A rich source of protein and energy.
    • Gehu (Wheat) – Helps in maintaining their digestive health.
    • Bread – A quick and easy food source to fill their stomachs.
    • Fruits – Bananas, apples, and seasonal fruits to supply vitamins and minerals.
    • Vegetables – Essential for good digestion and overall health.
    • Rotis – Nutritious and easy to eat for the monkeys.
    • Gudh (Jaggery) – A natural sweetener that provides energy and warmth.

This carefully planned diet ensures that the monkeys receive all the necessary nutrients to stay active and healthy.

3. Why Your Support Matters

The Feeding Street Monkeys Initiative is more than just an effort to provide food, it is about saving lives and upholding dharma. Every donation made to this campaign goes directly into purchasing food and maintaining the daily feeding program. Without consistent support, these sacred animals would struggle to survive.

Monkeys often depend on temple visitors and local residents for food, but with changing times, their natural sources of sustenance have diminished. They now face hunger and dehydration, making it difficult for them to survive. This campaign ensures that they receive regular meals and fresh drinking water every day.

By donating, you are:

  • Helping feed thousands of hungry monkeys daily.
  • Ensuring they have access to clean drinking water.
  • Preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of Mathura.
  • Fulfilling a noble duty of serving Lord Hanuman’s sacred messengers.
  • Promoting kindness and compassion for all living beings.
  • Preventing starvation and suffering among the monkey population.

4. Join Us in This Noble Cause

You have the power to make a difference. Whether it is a small or large contribution, every donation counts. By supporting this campaign, you are spreading love, devotion, and care for the innocent monkeys who depend on our help.

In Hindu scriptures, feeding animals is seen as a pious act that brings divine blessings. By feed monkeys, you are not only serving Lord Hanuman but also bringing positivity and good karma into your life. The act of selfless giving, especially to animals who cannot ask for help themselves, is one of the greatest forms of dharma.

Together, let us uphold the sacred values of compassion and kindness. Just as Lord Hanuman represents strength and devotion, we too can show our devotion by taking care of his sacred messengers.

Let’s come together and ensure these divine beings never go hungry again. Jai Bajrang Bali! 🙏
