In the sacred land of Mathura, the birthplace of Bhagwan Shri Krishna, thousands of monkeys roam the streets, forests, and temple premises — descendants of the revered Vanar Sena who once served Prabhu Shri Ram with unwavering devotion.

These monkeys, symbolic of devotion, strength, and loyalty, now face a crisis of hunger and neglect. Due to rapid urbanization, shrinking green spaces, and reduced access to natural food sources, the monkey population in Mathura — estimated in thousands — is suffering from acute starvation. Each day, many die silently due to lack of food and water. The cries of these innocent being’s echo through the temple corridors and forested lanes, yet remain unheard.

Shastras and Puranas are replete with the glory of monkey devotion. From the legendary Hanuman ji, the epitome of bhakti and seva, to the unnamed vanaras who built bridges and fought for dharma — monkeys have always been close to our divine narratives. To serve them is to serve the divine

In light of this urgent need, Krishna Dham Gaushala has taken a compassionate step forward to begin a daily feeding drive for the monkeys of Mathura. We aim to provide fresh fruits, grains, and clean water at multiple hotspots where monkey populations are most vulnerable.
